The new rigid entry boot for electrical conduit features a significant upgrade in design that ensures a watertight seal between the conduit and containment sump. Clamping seals are used to compress the fitting into place against the sump wall at a 90-degree entry angle, ensuring a watertight connection. This design also saves in installation time, as the compression process eliminates the need to drill multiple bolt holes for fastening purposes. Only a single 2.75" hole is required for installation.
Piping and Containment Product Manager Gary Saltz describes other design upgrades to the new entry boot: “This new design significantly reduces the amount of exposed rubber in the assembly, which is incredibly beneficial as hydrocarbons can break down and crack rubber over time. The body is made up of glass-filled nylon which is also designed to withstand long-term exposure to hydrocarbons”.
