Franklin Fueling Systems is celebrating the achievements of Amanda Goff, who has been awarded the Charles D. Kemp Scholarship by the non-profit PEI Foundation. Amanda was eligible for the scholarship as her father Mr. Steven Goff is a Quality Manager at Franklin Fueling Systems, which is a PEI member company.
Amanda plans to attend Milwaukee School of Engineering to pursue Biomedical Engineering, and said of the award “This scholarship is astounding to receive; my future as a biomedical engineer is now more easily attainable. My father has always pushed me to work hard and use my skills, and receiving the scholarship is an indicator that my hard work will pay off even more.”
Named in honor and memory of Charles D. Kemp, long-time president of the White Tucker Company and of PEI in 1972, the scholarship program was launched in 2010 with the aim to encourage and support students who reflect Mr. Kemp’s values and character.
Rick Long, General Manager and Associate General Counsel at PEI, wrote to Amanda “The committee saw in you a truly outstanding young person with real potential for the future. We hope the scholarship will help you realize your academic and professional goals in the days ahead.”
Mr. Goff commented “Opportunities such as the Charles D. Kemp Scholarship prove that all the hard work and dedication a student puts forth is worthwhile and a great accomplishment. Awards like this really can help motivate and inspire young people. I am beaming with pride. “
Amanda was also the recipient of the Edward J. Schaefer and T. W. Kehoe Franklin Electric Charitable and Educational Foundation Scholarship. Instituted in 1967, the Scholarship aims to aid qualified children of Franklin employees who are seeking a college education.
