Franklin Fueling Systems is pleased to announce the successful completion of German DIBt EN Pipe certification for its UPP™ brand pipework system which, like the recently achieved KIWA Netherlands certification, is something that only a few pipe manufacturers in the world have obtained.
DIBt certification is a prerequisite to installing pipework systems in the German market. This certification required product testing at levels above and beyond typical EN piping testing, including a zero permeation requirement. Pipe samples filled with test fuel were placed in a closed environment where the minimum trace of hydrocarbon coming from permeation could be detected and measured in the atmosphere surrounding the pipe.
DIBt certification also requires that manufacturing facility auditing takes place, to ensure that the product being sold is the same as the product that was originally tested and meets the same requirements.
Commenting on this most recent achievement, Allan Busch, Global Piping and Containment Systems Product Manager, said; “Becoming certified to a standard that requires your pipe to perform at a zero level of permeation speaks volumes to the best-in-class piping system we feel we offer to the global market”.
Detailed ordering information for specific DIBt-certified parts has not yet been released, but is expected to be made available in the near future.
