Probe Install Kits

Probe installation kits are used to install magnetostrictive probes in various underground/aboveground tank applications, ensuring that tanks are properly sealed in accordance with regulatory requirements. Two primary kit types allow you to choose the most efficient probe installation method. The suspension mount probe kits, required for leak detection or density measurement applications, suspend the probe from the top of the riser allowing it to hang down into the tank, ensuring vertical installation and ultimate accuracy. The bottom mount probe kits, ideal for inventory control probes which include bottom mount hardware, allow you to install the probe so that it rests on the tank’s bottom which can greatly reduce installation time and costs. Both 4" kits employ the quick release riser cap which allows easy access to the probe for inspection if required and eliminates any twisting of the probe or cable that may occur during installation. The cable grip ensures the probe cable is secure and the tank is properly sealed.

Application

  • The suspension probe kits should be used when performing leak detection or density measurement on underground storage tanks.

  • The bottom mount probe kits should be used with inventory control probes on aboveground or underground storage tanks where leak detection is not required

  • The TSP-K4AS install kit is for use with chemical or other installations where it is desirable for the probe head to be outside of the riser. It consists of a #316 SS 4” cap and compression fitting that is installed on the probe shaft so that only the floats and shaft are exposed to the tank contents. Includes TSP-UVPK probe head protection kit.

  • The TSP-LPGK install kit is for use with pressurized LPG tanks where the probe head will reside outside of the tank opening. It consists of a special compression fitting, designed to retain the contents of the pressurized tank that is installed on the probe shaft and then inserted into a user supplied cap with a 3/4” NPT hole. Includes TSP-UVPK probe head protection kit.

Advantages

  • A variety of installation options to meet all applications.

  • Quality seals and compression fittings keep vapors in and water out.

  • Quick release caps for easy access for inspections or maintenance.

  • Suspension kits ensure vertical orientation and ultimate accuracy.
