Applications
- The SC-01 is ideal for any application that requires a device with an RS-232 port to communicate over an RS-485 Bus.
- Converts any device with an RS-232 port to full duplex RS-485, thus permitting multi-drop communication
- Provides ability for 32 devices to connect to one RS-485 line and communicate remotely using one modem
- Permits INCON devices to communicate with other IEDs currently being used by the power utility market
- Compatible with several INCON products including the OPTImizer+, Model 1250B, Model 1810, Model 1511, Model 1255, and others

Capabilities
The SC-01 expands communication options by allowing multiple devices to communicate with each other. It also allows users to obtain the required interface module based on their needs and available support experience with network systems and protocol conversions.
- Allows each monitor to have an assigned address
- Permits communication between non-addressable RS-232 devices via built-in intelligence located in the converter
- The RS-232 device allocates the RS-485 link transparently
- Provides remote access through modem or multiple input RTU devices
- Provides current output information from an existing INCON unit into a more usable form
- All converters and drivers reside in the module and it does not require any external hardware or software
- Allows any device communicating in ASCII over RS-232 to communicate over RS-485 (full duplex)
