Pagination
Pagination for all web pages is now supported. Customers with a large number of sites will benefit from this enhancement. Pagination is controlled from the Preferences web page.
Multiple Customer Support
A single installation of SSA can now be used to host multiple customers. In System Sentinel 1.0 you were required to maintain separate SQL Server databases for each customer set of sites. Groups can now be used to separate customer sites from one another. This control is hierarchal and is created at the top level or at any sub group level providing the most flexibility for your to manage display and access to your sites.
Manifold Support
Manifold tank data is now processed and displayed along with single tank data.
Globalization
System Sentinel AnyWare provides a full featured interface to enable a user to select their regional specific settings for how they want numbers, dates and times display. Multiple language support is also available with a complete translations for the web interface for Russian and Spanish. Online help is currently only in English at this time. Contact your sales representative if other languages are required.
New Look and Feel
As previously mentioned, you will notice a new look and feel to the product. Below are some of the highlights of this new interface.
Website Code Enhancements
A number of new web technologies were employed and used to improve the reliability of the web site across multiple browsers.
Access Control
The presentation of web site data has greater user access control and flexibility. This control can be found in the user section.
Rules
When selecting an alarm type during the configuration of a rule, note that some alarms are specific to the type of ATG. The alarms an INCON ATG can generate are shown with an asterisk preceding the alarm name. Only select alarms that correspond to the ATG type, otherwise no event will be generated.
Site Connections Names
In the creating a site, a connection name is listed which determines how SSA will connect to the site. There are three Radio button choices (Default, Select and New). The Default connection refers to the connection which has been setup in the SSA MMC Console application, marked as default. This is normally the only connection name you will need to use if for example, all your sites employ the same network hardware like a TS-EPS or Modem.
When you need to use a different connection, you can choose the Select Radio button and pick a connection name from the drop down list. This list is populated only after you have selected the New Radio button and typed in an existing connection name. The existing connection name comes from valid connections created in the SSA MMC Console application.
For example, to set up a new connection name, you first need to use the SSA Administrator (MMC Console Application) to create a new connection. Once this is complete, go to the Site Setup web page and locate the Connection Name parameters. Choose the New Radio button and type in the connection you created in the SSA Administrator step. Double check your spelling of the connection name as there is currently no validation check done here. Once you save the settings for this site, the site will be properly configured to use this connection and the Select drop down list will have this connection name for future sites.
EPS Auto Poll Interval
The EPS Auto Poll Interval parameter found in the Admin Site Information Web Interface is displayed as a blank value until you change it from its default value maintained in the TS-EPS unit itself. The default is 360 minutes (every 6 hours).
Poll The Site From the Web Page
The Poll Site Control is not a connection troubleshooting tool. You should make sure your connection parameters (phone number or IP address) are correct and you have successfully polled the site in the past before using the Update feature. If the data is not updated in a reasonable amount of time (5 minutes would be reasonable), use the SSA Administrator Console and the Communicator Spy program (accessed from the System Sentinel AnyWare Start Programs Menu) to trouble shoot the problem.
IIS ASP Script Timeout Settings
By default, IIS sets the Active Server Page Script timeout to 90 seconds which is sufficient for most conditions. If however, you have a lot of sites and site data you may need to extend this time. If the SSA Web interface encounters a timeout condition by displaying a page not found error, simply extend this in IIS under the SSA Web Site.
Missing Tank Images
On occasion, some tank images displayed under the inventory page do not get displayed correctly. When this occurs, simply right click on the image and select the "Show Picture" menu item to display the tank image.
Terminal Services or Remote Connection Installation
SSA cannot be installed from a network drive using Terminal Services. The workaround is to copy the installation package to a local hard drive.
