***Disable or uncheck the ‘check for updates automatically’ at the end of the installation process***
- Download the ProTeXt zip file from here (source:mirror.ctan.org/systems/windows/protext)
- Extract the zip archive and run the setup with default options except when noted below:
- The installation location MUST be C:\Program Files\MiKTeX 2.9
- On the 'Settings' page:
- Select preferred paper size.
- Set 'Install missing packages on-the-fly' parameter to 'Yes'.
- Note: unlike MiKTeX….Package Manager not available using ProTeXt. All the various packages are contained in the ProTeXt zip.
- Download and install Sanskrit 2003 font (required for Hindi language support) from here.
- Restart the computer.
